RH Announces Staff and Board Changes

Restoration House of Greater Kansas City is pleased to announce recent changes to their staff and board.

Dr. Rodney Hammer, Founder of Restoration House and Chairman of the Board since 2015, has been appointed as President effective March 1st.  Dr. Hammer also serves as the Executive Director of Missions for the Blue River-Kansas City Baptist Association.

Prior to 2008, he served for 18 years with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, 10 years in China and Southeast Asia, and 8 years as the Regional Leader for Central & Eastern Europe. Dr. Hammer has both a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Hammer is married to Debbie and they have one son, Luke.  They reside in Lee’s Summit.

Becky Moyer takes over the role as Chairwoman of the Board.  Becky has been on the Board of Restoration House since its inception in 2015.  Becky, co-owner of Moyer & Moyer Insurance Agency, a member of Insurance One, is a ministry insurance specialist with extensive expertise and experience working specifically with houses of worship and non-profits.  Representing several companies, their local office personally insures over 550 churches, associations, Christian schools/seminaries, religious headquarters, and non-profit ministries as well as hundreds of individuals for their personal insurance needs.

Becky graduated summa cum laude from William Jewell College with degrees in communication, public relations, and psychology.  Becky began her career as a national trainer before becoming the first woman state sales director for GuideOne Insurance.  In 1991, she and her husband returned to their home state to open their agency.  Becky has 40 years of insurance experience with a passion for helping clients be good stewards of their insurance dollars.

A pastor’s daughter and a lifetime of involvement serving in her local church provide Becky practical insight in recognizing and implementing loss control and coverage needs. Becky and her husband, BJ, have been married for 37 years and have two adult daughters and a son-in-law.  They are all active in ministry at Fellowship Church and enjoy sporting events and volunteering together.  Becky serves on the board for Restoration House of Greater Kansas City out of a passion and belief that every person is created in the image of God and should be able to live free from exploitation and bondage.

Under the leadership of Dr. Hammer and the Board of Directors, Restoration House has seen a significant increase in their organization over the past couple of years.  In 2019, they added the Mabee House, a home for minor girls.  This year, they are renovating a building and will triple their capacity for adult women.  Restoration House of Greater Kansas City brings hope to survivors of human trafficking through love, guidance, and assurance of a long-term home.
